Account closing procedure

Login to computing machines (computerACL)

In order to be able to log in to the computing machines, the user must be assigned to an active allocation for this computer (allocation may run out / expire, or be deleted by administrators).

Notification:

• Immediately, along with information in case of closing of the allocation.

Loss of eligibility to log in:

• 2 weeks after the end of an allocation.

Account validity and access to the resource allocation system

The account remains active for 3 months from the expiry of the last allocation. In addition, we do not close the accounts of Principal Investigators, who have an active project, so they can apply for a new allocation at https://granty.icm.edu.pl/.

Notification:

• 2 weeks before the expiry of the account.

Implementation:

• After 3 months from notification.

Password expired

Failure to renew the password after 3 months results in the closure of the account.

Notification:

• 2 weeks before the expiry of the account.

Archiving of projects

The projects are automatically archived if:

• the project is reported
• the project has not had an active allocation for 9 months

Note: if this is the only active project of the Principal Investigator (PI), it will start a 3-month termination period for the ICM account.

Examples

example A: a user (not PI), belongs to only one project

1. The allocation is finished, an e-mail is sent informing about the completion of the allocation and the impending closing of access (logging) to the computing machines.
2. After 2 weeks, the user loses the possibility of logging in to the computing machines (computerACL).
3. A warning is sent about the impending closure of the account.
4. The account is closed after 3 months.

example B: a user who is Principal Investigator (PI), belongs to only one project

1. The allocation is finished, an e-mail is sent informing about the completion of the allocation and the impending closing of access (logging) to the computing machines.
2. After 2 weeks, the user loses the possibility of logging in to the computing machines (computerACL).
3. The project is archived (a notification is sent).
4. A warning is sent about the impending closure of the account.
5. The account is closed after 3 months.
